We've had Phoebe for an entire week now. Her personality is really coming out, too. She is not a very needy or clingy dog, but she will come up for ear rubs and belly rubs whenever she wants them. She loves her new dog bed, and if you sit down beside her she'll roll over and let you rub her belly. She also loves to sunbathe - in the afternoons she'll catch the sunbeam that comes into our living room, but she especially loves to be outside laying in the grass when the sun is just right. She has played with her stuffies a little bit, and doesn't get upset when our greyhound Nina takes them from her. She is eating well and has had no accidents in the house at all - in fact she lets us know when she needs to go outside by standing and waiting at the back door for someone to let her out. She loves to explore the yard and chase the occasional squirrel that is brave enough to visit us. She has charmed everyone that has met her with her beautiful face and sweet disposition. I took her to visit my parents for the weekend. She slept for most of the 2 hour car ride, snuggling with Nina in the back of the Tahoe. At my parents' house she met their small dog Mac, and a few of the neighbors' dogs. One thing's for sure: Phoebe has never met a stranger - her tail wags at everyone she meets. When I come home from work every day she is jumping in place and wagging her tail like crazy. I am now realizing why people that adopt senior dogs say that they won't ever have a home without a senior grey in it. There is a gentle wisdom and appreciation in Phoebe, but she still has such a love of life that you would never realize she is 9 years old!

Phoebe sounds like a wonderful house guest and a lady with a real zest for life. As if it weren't enough that she's absolutely beautiful!
